How fares are quoted
Every ride is quoted as a total for the journey before you confirm. Tolls and parking are either included or listed separately, and stated either way.
Waiting time and route changes on the day are agreed with the driver and confirmed through your coordinator, so nothing is negotiated at the roadside.
Night travel in the hills. We will tell you when an arrival time makes a ghat-road transfer a bad idea, and suggest a different train or a night near the station instead. Occasionally the right answer is don't travel.
How we check a driver
- Licence, vehicle papers and insurance seen before any booking
- The vehicle is inspected, not just photographed
- The route is one they actually know
- A conversation about how they handle a delayed guest or a change of plan
- Guest feedback tracked; repeated complaints end the arrangement

Asked most often
Can I book a ride at short notice?
Sometimes, in Kodagu. But rides are arranged rather than hailed, so the earlier you ask the better the vehicle and the fare.
What if my train is late?
Tell your coordinator and we adjust with the driver. Waiting time for a delayed train is normally absorbed within reason; anything longer is agreed rather than charged silently.
Is the fare per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle, always. You are hiring the car or the bus, not a seat.
Can the driver stay with us for several days?
Yes, and for group trips it is usually the better arrangement. Multi-day hire is quoted as a package including the driver's own accommodation.
Do you have child seats?
Rarely, and we will not claim otherwise. Tell us if you need one and we will find out honestly whether it is available.
