Home kitchens & meal plans
The meals most travellers remember are the ones cooked in a house, not a restaurant. Athiti works with home cooks who will feed a family or a group — with notice, and with your requirements taken seriously.
What's on offer
The host's kitchen cooks breakfast, lunch or dinner where you are staying. Simplest arrangement, and the most common in Kodagu.
A cook we work with prepares a meal for you to eat there or collect. How to eat properly when your stay does not do food.
One or two meals a day for weeks at a time — for students, hospital attendants and anyone on a long stay who is tired of eating out.
How it works
How many people, which meals, and every dietary requirement in the group. All of it, not the headline one.
Home kitchens are households. Most need a day's notice; a group meal usually needs two.
You get what is being cooked and the price per plate before it is confirmed. No surprises at the table.
At your stay, at the kitchen, or collected — whatever was agreed.
Where it works
The same three labels used across the site.
Home food is priced per plate and quoted before you confirm. Meals included with a stay are shown as part of that stay's total rather than billed separately.
A monthly meal plan is quoted for the period, and is normally well below the daily rate multiplied out.
A note on allergies. These are household kitchens with shared surfaces and shared oil. We pass your requirements on carefully, and we will not claim a kitchen is free of cross-contamination. For a severe allergy, please tell us so we can be honest about whether this suits you.

Food questions
A day for a family meal, two for a group. Home kitchens shop and cook to order, so a same-day request usually means no.
Yes, and it is a common request on pilgrimage trips. Say so when you send the request so we route it to a kitchen that does it properly rather than approximately.
We eat at every kitchen before working with them. They are home kitchens, not licensed commercial premises, and we would rather say that plainly than imply a certification that does not exist.
Often, and it is usually the best part of the trip. It depends on the household — ask and we will find out for you.
Sometimes, over short distances. Most arrangements are eaten at your stay or at the kitchen.
Tell us the destination, dates and group size. You'll hear from a person, not an autoresponder.
